These terms cover what you can buy on Play Story Chess, how you pay, and how to get help. Play Story Chess is operated by Red Rabbit Management LLC. Questions go to hello@playstorychess.com.

What is free

Part One of The Glass Syndicate is free to play with no limit, as a guest or with an account. It contains the first six encounters. Part Two contains the remaining six encounters and can be played once Part One is finished.

Without Premium, every other story board, including The Glass Syndicate · Part Two, A Knight of the Round Table and stories released later, is limited to one board started per 24 hours. The 24 hours begin when a board is started, not when it is won, and starting that same board again within them does not count as another board. Watching a film never counts as a board, and replaying a board you have already won is never limited and does not count. Free access to Part Two earned under the earlier free-access offer is preserved, without the daily limit.

What you can buy

Story Chess Premium is a subscription that costs USD $4.99 per month on the website (or the local price shown at checkout) and renews automatically each month. In mobile apps, the store shows the local price and renewal terms before you confirm a purchase. While Premium is active, it includes every story and every part available on Play Story Chess, every new story on the day it is released, and unlimited boards.

Single story parts and the Season Pass are no longer sold. Parts marked Coming soon are not yet playable.

Boards unlock by winning. Buying Premium never unlocks a board on its own.

Your account

Mobile-app purchases require a signed-in Story Chess account. Each purchase is saved to that account, so it is there whenever you sign in. Website purchases made as a guest remain connected to the browser until you connect them to an account. If something you bought does not appear, use Restore purchases while signed in to the original account, or contact us.

Payment

On the website, Premium uses secure Stripe payment fields on Play Story Chess. Some purchases open checkout hosted by Stripe or RevenueCat. If a checkout identifies Paddle as the seller, Paddle is the merchant of record for that transaction and its buyer terms apply to the payment. That disclosure does not mean Paddle checkout is available in every location or on every purchase.

The checkout shows the available payment methods, currency, final price and any applicable taxes before you confirm. In the iOS app, purchases are billed through Apple's App Store; in the Android app, purchases are billed through Google Play. RevenueCat helps us verify purchases and provide access. Play Story Chess does not receive or store your full card number.

Renewal and cancelling Premium

Premium renews automatically at the end of each monthly term unless you cancel before the renewal date. On the website, cancel from Profile → Manage, which opens Stripe's billing page; you can also email us for help. If you subscribed in an app, cancel through the store where you bought it: Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. When you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the month you paid for and does not renew.

Deleting the app or your Story Chess account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it separately before deleting your account.

We will tell you before a renewal if the Premium price changes.

Earlier purchases and Season Passes

If you bought The Glass Syndicate · Part Two or A Knight of the Round Table, you keep that story, with unlimited play of it. If you have a Season Pass, it includes every story until your pass ends. Manage or cancel a Season Pass through the store where you bought it, the management link in your website purchase receipt, or by emailing us; when you cancel, the pass stays active until the end of the term you paid for and does not renew.

When a Season Pass ends, your saved progress is kept and boards you won stay playable. Without Premium, story boards beyond Part One of The Glass Syndicate are then limited to one per 24 hours, except in a story you bought separately. Existing free access is preserved.

Refunds

For Play Story Chess purchases billed by Paddle, we offer a full refund when you request it within 14 days of the payment date. This applies to one-time purchases and annual Season Pass payments, including renewals. You do not need to give a reason, and accessing or using the content does not remove this promise.

To request a refund, email hello@playstorychess.com, use the support link in your Paddle receipt, or visit Paddle's purchase support. Include your purchase email and order reference if available so we can locate the payment.

Paddle is the merchant of record and processes payment refunds. This 14-day promise is provided by Red Rabbit Management LLC, in addition to applicable rights under Paddle's Buyer Terms, Paddle's Refund Policy, and consumer law. Country-specific withdrawal rights, including rights on subscription renewals, may apply independently of this promise. Nothing here limits those rights.

For website purchases not billed by Paddle, our existing policy continues to apply: if a purchase does not work as described, email us so we can help. We will fix the issue or refund it; other refund requests are handled case by case and as required by law. These conditions do not apply to the Paddle refund promise above.

For purchases billed by Apple, request a refund through Apple's purchase support. For Google Play purchases, use Google Play's refund process or contact us with your order details. Store policies and applicable consumer rights govern those requests.

Changes

We may improve stories after release. If we change these terms, the version on this page applies to purchases made after the change. Earlier purchases remain subject to the terms that applied when they were made.

Website Premium pricing in India is ₹189.43 per month, the US$1.99 equivalent fixed for this offer on October 29, 2026. Other supported local-currency prices are based on US$4.99 per month. The exact recurring amount appears before payment. Mobile-app store prices are separate.
