About Play Story Chess

Play Story Chess brings real chess into fictional worlds. Its single-player adventures combine computer-opponent encounters with cinematic scenes, characters, and chapter progression.

The game is available at PlayStoryChess.com. You will also see Mainline Stories in its interface.

Another reason to take your seat

The idea begins with a familiar feeling: you can enjoy chess and still want something beyond another sequence of independent matches.

A story offers another reason to return. You want to meet the next character, find out what happens after the encounter, and continue through the world.

That is the experience this platform is built around. You can enjoy it alongside the places where you compete, study, or play friends.

The first adventure: The Glass Syndicate

The Glass Syndicate puts you undercover inside a fictional criminal organization's network. Your cover identity is Alex Mercer, an art dealer.

Your opening meeting takes place at a tournament in Montenegro. Across the board is Severin Vey, a contact whose introduction can open the next door.

The adventure connects twelve encounters across four chapters. Part One is free to play with no limit; beyond it, play is free at one board per 24 hours, or unlimited with Story Chess Premium. You make the chess moves against the computer and follow the mission through its scenes.

A platform for different worlds

The Glass Syndicate is the first adventure, not the boundary of the platform's identity. The second, Knight of the Round Table, is a King Arthur story: six opponents across two chapters, from Sir Gawain to King Arthur, ending with knighthood at the Round Table. The story selector also announces The Drowned Atlas and The Last Orbit as coming soon.

The library distinguishes available play from announced stories.

How this relates to Mainline

Story Chess is part of the Mainline brand family and uses Mainline accounts. It is a separate product and website from Play Mainline.

Shared branding or sign-in does not mean that another Mainline product's curriculum, pricing, or features automatically apply here. The how-it-works page describes the Story Chess experience.
