Story Chess Premium — October 23, 2026
Play Story Chess now has one subscription, Story Chess Premium: $4.99 a month (or the local price shown at checkout), renewing automatically each month. Premium includes every story, every part, every new story on the day it is released, and unlimited boards.
Without it, play stays free. Part One of The Glass Syndicate is free with no limit. Every other story board, including Part Two and Knight of the Round Table, is free at one board started per 24 hours. Watching a film never counts as a board, and replaying a board you have won never does.
Single stories and the Season Pass are no longer sold. If you bought Part Two or Knight of the Round Table, you keep that story with unlimited play of it; a Season Pass keeps every story until it ends. Boards unlock by winning, never by buying.

Now available: Knight of the Round Table
The King Arthur story is now available. It was announced in the story selector as The Hollow Crown; its public title is Knight of the Round Table.
You play real chess against six opponents across two chapters: Sir Gawain, Sir Percival, the innkeeper, Lady Elinor, Sir Lancelot, and King Arthur. Winning moves the story on, and the adventure ends with knighthood at the Round Table. Like The Glass Syndicate, it has cinematic scenes, narration, music, and character boards.
At its release, Knight of the Round Table was sold on its own as a one-time purchase of $6.99 and was included in the Season Pass; everyone who bought it keeps it. It is now free at one board per 24 hours, or included in Story Chess Premium. No account is needed to subscribe; a free account keeps a purchase on every device. Boards unlock by winning, never by buying.

Catalog check — September 24, 2026
At that check, The Glass Syndicate was the available adventure, and the release did not offer purchases or subscriptions. The King Arthur story was announced and marked coming soon, alongside The Drowned Atlas and The Last Orbit.
How to read this page
The dated catalog check records when that catalog information was checked. It is not a claim that all the listed features launched on that date.
An available story can be entered from the selector. A coming-soon card is an announcement and does not start an adventure.
Finished The Glass Syndicate?
Knight of the Round Table is the second released Story Chess campaign: a medieval adventure that ends at the Round Table. For a different kind of session, compare computer games, puzzles, lessons, and campaigns.
Returning to a story
